10th IFSHT Congress 2016 Buenos Aires

Learning, Laughing, Friendship, Sharing, Tango

We would like to congratulate Beatriz Inés Piso, local organizing committee chairperson, and her conference organizing and hospitality committees, for their efforts in holding such a successful Triennial Congress in October. There were 362 therapists registered for the Congress from 47 countries. Bea Piso worked closely with the local surgeon’s organizing committee and IFSHT. The congress offered translation from English to Spanish in the main auditorium. Thanks must also go to our outgoing President, Sarah Ewald who along with Birgitta Rosén, as program co-chairs worked with a committee of 17 therapists from around the world to develop a hugely successful scientific program in Buenos Aires. There were 92 invited presentations, 48 free papers and 35 E-posters in the IFSHT program. Abstracts from the free papers were published in the journal Hand, vol. 11, Supplement 1, September 2016. Participants could choose between 21 topic based sessions, 5 free paper sessions and 10 workshops in the IFSHT program or attend any of the sessions in the IFSSH program.
