Memberships & Associated Organisations

The Australian Hand Therapy Association Inc. (AHTA) is Australia’s only professional association representing practitioners of hand therapy.
AHTA provides support for its members through continuing education, professional development, networking and representation at state and national levels.
AHTA also acts as a central referral point for doctors and members of the public seeking the services of practitioners of hand therapy in specific geographic locations.
The AHTA was founded in NSW in 1982 with its first formal meeting in October of that year. We now have over 670 members from around Australia and continue to grow as an association. The AHTA is working towards an accreditation of its full members over the next two years and is dedicated to represent members, advance the hand therapy profession and promote high standards of hand therapy in Australia.
